Catherine “Cathy” Gibson has always believed that love is a language of its own, and storytelling is how we speak it. A celebrated children’s book author and passionate advocate for inclusive education, Cathy has spent her life helping children feel seen and understood. Fascinated by American Sign Language, she studied at The American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, Connecticut, where she discovered the powerful bridge between language, movement, and emotion.
She later began teaching preschool dance using sign language and body movement, creating a space where every child, regardless of ability, could express themselves and shine. Her journey has been guided by compassion, creativity, and an unshakable belief that differences are not barriers they’re gifts that make us beautiful.
Cathy’s energy and storytelling light up every room she enters. Whether she’s signing along to a story, leading a dance circle, or connecting with families, she reminds us that when we teach children to love who they are, we change the world one heart at a time.
